The White Lab Coat & Tomatoes

June 24th, 2010

I figured since I’m getting married I should up my life insurance policy, and maybe Matt should get one!!  That all sounds fine & dandy, right?  One problem (for Matt that is).  It requires blood to be drawn.  Matt is HORRIFIED by needles, and by horrified, I mean passes out at the thought.  So for the last […]

So for the last week, I’ve been telling him its not that bad, he can sit on the comfort of his couch (This lady comes to you, how great!).    I’m so proud of Matt.  Irina took his blood and he didn’t turn pale nor did he pass out.  Maybe he’s being cured of his fear of people in white lab coats???  Lets cross our fingers.

Yesterday, I was emailing my Aunt Lucille about how down I was about my tomatoe plants & garden in general.

I only got 2 tomatoes last year, and I planted 4 plants.  I blamed it on the bad soil and bad garden location.  This year, I planted a new garden with much better soil, and I wasn’t getting any better results (I know, its still early..).  But!!!  I’ve had 3 cherry tomatoes on the vine for the last 4 weeks that were green.  I was beginning to think I inherited my mothers “not so green thumb” when I desperately so wanted my dad’s really good green thumb becuase they weren’t ripening!  (lets be honest mom…I’ve seen dad bring house plants back from the dead, that’s a green thumb if I’ve ever seen one.)  But guess what??????  This morning, I went to check on my garden, AND MY TOMATOES WERE A FAINT YELLOW/RED.  Hurray.  Maybe I do have dad’s green thumb.

Also, today, I had to make a quick run home.  I unexpectedly had to go to a jobsite, and lets just say, my footwear (sandals) was “inappropriate”.  So I had to run home to get some different shoes.  I saw this at my local corner drive-thru/semi-scary liquore store:

And to think, I took these pictures AFTER I went home to grab my camera (and shoes..) When I drove by orginally, there was twice as much beer.  Geesh!  Was this place plum out or what?  I’ve never seen so much beer needing to be restocked in my life!

Look Mom! I made a blog! I know we aren’t technically “mandcwilliams” yet…but I was antsy to start a blog, and it’s the best I could do. Did you know how hard it is to find a blog name with “williams” in it that isn’t taken? Seriously hard. Anyways, marital bliss planning is in full […]

Look Mom! I made a blog!

I know we aren’t technically “mandcwilliams” yet…but I was antsy to start a blog, and it’s the best I could do. Did you know how hard it is to find a blog name with “williams” in it that isn’t taken? Seriously hard.

Anyways, marital bliss planning is in full swing with only a mere 24 days left until the wedding. I won’t speak for Matt, but I’m incredibly excited, I’m sure he is too (and Lucy). I can’t wait to spend the day celebrating with family & friends. As I write this, I feel like I should be doing some more planning, but according to my “theknot.com” checklist, I have done what needs to be done up to this point. I guess that’s better than struggling.
