Sorry for the delayed post, but we haven’t been up to anything in the last couple of weeks.

Last night, Matt & I met friends Ed & Sarah in Central City for some dinner & gambling.  My goal was to take the $100 I had and make it into $7000.  Bad news…I lost $40.  Oh well!  It was awesome.  We aren’t gamblers, but it was something different to do for a change.  Dinner was great too!  AND, I sat down at a table in which I thought was black jack, but it turned out to be 3 card poker.  I had NO clue how to play, so this sweet old lady next to me would look at my hand & tell me how to bet.  I won $5 at that table.  The best part, about an hour later, I heard all this hooting & hollering from that table, and that old lady won big.  YAY lady!  I was really happy for her.

Tonight, Matt & I are meeting Josh & Liz at the DU vs. WI hockey game.  Go WI!  I don’t anticipate them to win, but I hope they do.  Matt played for DU, in his glory college days.  He hasn’t stopped rubbing it in since they creamed WI at DU last year.  UGH.  I’m ready for it to stop…wish WI luck!

Lucy & I took a run this morning.  It was the first time this year I’ve had to wear pants while running.  I guess warm fall weather is gone.  The run might have been to much for Lucy….this is how she’s been laying for the last half hour.

Nederland

October 10th, 2010

Yesterday, Matt, Lucy & I took a short road trip (3 hour round trip) to Nederland.  Nederland is about 20 miles West of Boulder and at about 8500 FT above sea level.  So not really high and not really far, but far enough for a perfect day trip & a beautiful drive.  We were able […]

We were able to see the “colors” along with some amazing scenery.  Its interesting we drive the mountains to look at the colors when in reality, you see more color change in town becuase people have real trees, not just evergreen’s.  But the contrast in colors is amazing.

Here are some of the sights on our way there.

The town of Nederland is really cute.  Tiny, but cute.  There are a lot of small antique & gem shops, along with touristy things.

And finally, Matt pointed out one of my favorite things to take pictures of…run down abandoned buildings.  Nederland had a gem.

Today is the day they FINALLY paved the front of our house.  We’ve been living with grated black top for about 6 weeks…Lucy & I hate it.  I hate driving on it and Lucy hates walking on it (which makes me annoyed walking her). Lucy is thrilled they paved it…can’t you tell? Our walk went […]

Our walk went much smoother tonight, even though it was dark by 7:15 when we left.  ISH!  Now only 5% of our walk is grated, hopefully they can finish that up tomorrow.

I was losing hope they’d have it done by the end of the week, but sure enough, at 6:45am this morning, all the big loud trucks pulled up & parked in front of the house.  Lucy watched the workers diligently…all day.

one last picture of Lucy enjoying the black top…
