Finally – some Brazzale

April 20th, 2012

Since Link was born, I’ve been struggling to find SOMETHING about him that’s me or Brazzale.  It seems EVERYTHING about him is Matt, right down to his blonde eyelashes.   BUT…yesterday, I think I saw some Brazzale in him (mostly his Poppy).   We were walking into Whole Foods to get some Almond Meal.  At […]

At the entrance were some guys manning a “Earth Day” table & trying to sell trees.  I am not opposed to planting trees by any means, but I’m not going to plant one just because Earth Day is coming up.  He tried to flag me down, but I was on a mission and honestly, didn’t really care about his mission.  I gave him a smile & kept walking.  He then said “Ma’am, babies LOVE planting trees & Earth Day”.  Before I could turn around and say “I run a 2 stroke chain saw & cut down tress on Earth Day” Link let out a huge cry.  I’m pretty sure that was his way of saying “Sir, the Earth is NOT your Mother”.  He sure made his Poppy proud.  At 6 weeks old he knows Earth Day is junk.

This weekend my sister’s we’re in town along w/ Abby & Ally.  Link LOVED seeing his cousins & Aunties – I loved seeing my sister’s & nieces.  We didn’t do much but just hang out, which was absolutely perfect.   On the way to the airport yesterday, B, Sarah, & I were discussing how nature […]

On the way to the airport yesterday, B, Sarah, & I were discussing how nature has it all wrong.  The women carry the baby for 10 months so the men should nurse the baby.  I mean, isn’t the physical & emotional changes of carrying a baby for 10 months enough w/o having to deal w/ the stress of nursing after the baby?  Apparently not.  B & Sarah both agree if men were in charge of nursing, every baby would be on formula.  I beg to differ.  It might be that way NOW, because it’s against what all men think, but if we start implementing it, and making it second nature, in about 200 years, men won’t know any different.  Right?  So yeah, it own’t happen in my lifetime, or Link’s lifetime, but maybe his grandkids lifetime.

My favorite part of this idea – picturing men in the “men’s bra department” at the store.  What do they look like?  Are they camo print?  Nude colored?

1 month

April 6th, 2012

Today Link turned 1 month old.  I can’t believe it.  I still think he’s little, but the Dr told us today “he’s a big boy!”.  Was she calling my kid fat?  He weighed in at a perfect 9lbs 12oz today (50th percentile) and is 21″ long (25th percentile, he’s short, finally something he got from […]

Today, I took Link to “baby time” at the library – I met some of the moms from the mom’s group I go to on Wednesday.  It’s just 20 min. of singing nursery rhymes and socializing.  Link had a great time, it’s apparent by the picture below.

I might have a problem…

April 4th, 2012

I’m known for watching smut TV – 16 & pregnant, Teen Mom, Jail, Gangland, Dance Moms – to name a few.  I realized it might be a problem when Matt was looking at DVR & saw “rehab addict” recorded.   M: Rehab Addict, really Catie? C: Yeah, I totally dig this chick M: Why are […]

M: Rehab Addict, really Catie?
C: Yeah, I totally dig this chick

M: Why are you into so much drama?
C: *puzzled* It’s not drama

M: What’s not dramatic about a person always going to rehab – as the title would suggest

C: *laugh* It’s not about REHAB, it’s about this chick who rehabs houses, she does some super awesome stuff that’s right up my alley.

M: Oh….I thought it was another one of your trashy TV shows.
