Why I’m a slacker

Link turned 18 months….2.5 weeks ago.  I’m not on the ball, not at all.  I often think about blogging and want to blog, but I can’t find the time.

My day starts at 5:15 am (not uncommon to start earlier because Captain Stinky Pants has #2’d himself awake).

We leave the house by 6:25am so I can be to work by 7am.

I work from 7am-4:30 M-TH & 7am-11am on Friday’s – in those hours, I feel like I’m feverishly trying to cram 50 hours into 40 because working from home is hard & working late is pretty much not an option when Matt isn’t home.  Apparently daycare calls CPS & the police feeds your child dinner & makes him part of her family when you don’t pick your child up by closing (kind of makes you feel like crap, especially because he’s already the 1st kid there & the last one picked up).

You might think I should use my very cherished 30 min. lunch time to blog, but I chose to run to keep sane & it’s about the only time I get a workout in during the week when Matt is not home (if he’s home, I start my days on Tues & Thurs at 4:30am so I can go to the gym before work).  I seriously think I need to figure out a way to blog while I run, I crack myself up & have the best ideas.

At 4:30, I leave work & then sit in this mess for 40-50 min

Depending on if there is a Bronco’s game, accident, Mr. President is in town, the circus, past presidents, opening day’s, or Marilyn Monroe this can take up to 1 hour & 10 min. I generally write more blogs in my head at this time if I’m not catching up with my mom or friend on the phone.

*guess why traffic was slow tonight based on the goofs behind me*

Link & I or Matt & Link get home from daycare around 5:20-5:30 in which I make dinner, we eat, & walk Lucy.

Around 7pm, I put Link in a head lock & start his bedtime routine by making teeth brushing traumatic.  I sometimes why I bother, I get so little brushing done & he’s doomed to have gold caps on his front teeth by his Kindergarten picture anyways.  I should just make it a happy time.

Once I get Link to bed, I eat a well deserved skinny cow ice cream sandwich, sit on the chair, catch up on a bit of the news & let out a deep sigh.  On a good night, I will do some sewing.  All the other nights?  I think “man, I should blog”, but my computer is in the other room & Lucy B is snuggling my feet.  If you’ve ever experience a Lucy B foot snuggle, you’d understand why I a) can’t get up to get my computer in the other room and b) am passed out on the couch by 8:30pm.  I tell myself I’ll blog tomorrow at lunch, but then I run, and tell myself I’ll blog in the evening…lather, rinse & repeat.

Tonight, I had no reason to not blog.  Matt & I did the daily routine (except we went out to dinner because we have no food in the house, hello online grocery shopping?).  After I put Link to bed, I did my deep sigh w/ the news, but didn’t enjoy a skinny cow (see note above).  Matt picked Lucy up from the kennel tonight and she’s beyond exhausted, hence putting herself to bed before 7pm tonight, so I didn’t have her snuggling my feet putting me into a warm cuddly sleep induced coma, but instead, allowing me to force myself to get my computer in the other room.  Thank you Lucy B Williams.

Hopefully I will be able to tell you what the Captain is up to at 18 months soon!

We took Link to the aquarium on Monday.  He had a blast & so did we.  He loves all fish & all fish tanks.  We saw a lot of his back, heard a lot of “whoa” & “see!”.   Ugliest & largest fish ever. This is Link ABOUT to touch his first sting ray. This […]

This is Link touching his very first sting ray.  I missed it because this kid in the green came flying out of nowhere & blocked my picture.  He also shoved Link out of the way & Matt almost dropped him in with the sting rays.  Thanks kid.  IMG_6694

BIKE

September 7th, 2013

Link is obsessed with his bike & all bikes.  You can’t drive anywhere or walk anywhere w/o hearing “bike…BIke…BIKE!”  Bringing him to the bike store last weekend was a “bike” nightmare, but a dream come true for him. Needless to say, I’m feeling pretty comfortable about the bike I purchased him for Christmas a few months ago.

Last Friday afternoon, I decided to see how far he could make it around the block (it’s a pretty big one!).  He did awesome.  Made it 90% of the way.

Maybe instead of a helmet he should wear a cup?

The bike I got him for Christmas came with a basket.  Even though I picked a “manly” basket, I was still thinking it’s a bit girly.  However, I think the basket will be perfect – perfect for his rock collection (a minor obsession).

What’s more fun than throwing rocks?
