We took advantage of a few pre halloween parties last weekend.

First up was a party at Matt’s jiu jitsu gym, but he was to young to do most of the games, so he just ran around like a mad man chasing balloons.  Link went to this sans costume – here might have been a full blown fit when I put it on him.  It’s probably because we woke him up for a nap & then hurried him, which is a no-no.

The second was at our church, they had tons of fun carnival games.  he was mostly to little for all of them (except pick the duck out of the water & you win if it has a #2 on the bottom – what?).  He enjoyed:

Pumpkin Painting

Friday I thought it would be fun to take him to our church’s pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin for us to paint.

The key to finding a good pumpkin is sitting on them – obviously.IMG_1989

There might be straw on his stomach because he fell off a few.  Those few were not winners, they didn’t make good seats.

Found a winner!  Link thought it was more fun to walk to the car w/ your eyes closed WHILE holding the pumpkin – living on the edge man!

I was very excited for this adventure.  The weather was beyond amazing, Link was happy, and he loves to color, so I thought it was a win.  Wrong.  Running around in the front yard W/O your pants on & chasing balls is the biggest priority.

after about 10 min. of playing soccer & trying to exaggerate the fun of painting to him, he sat down & worked on his masterpiece.

TA-DA!!  Complete w/ paint on diaper, face, legs, hair & arms.  I loved how his pumpkins turned out – one proud mama.

FYI – the smaller of the two pumpkins has gone about everywhere with us this week – he won’t leave home w/o it.  Once we return home, he puts it back on the front stoop.  Oi!
