Duke is officially one month (well, 6 weeks as I type this).

Weight: 9lbs 1oz

Height: 22 in

Goes to bed between 11:45/12:15 & wakes up only once at 3am & again between 6am-7am (to bad Link is up sooner than that!).

Duke is still a pretty easy baby & tolerates the smothers from Link pretty well.

Christmas this year was a hectic blur, to say the least.   Our house sort of turned into a hot mess.  Duke was just discharged for jaundice, Link came down w/ Croup Christmas Day, I got mastitis Saturday and then Matt caught Link’s croupy cough.   Regardless, we all still managed to enjoy Christmas.  Link […]

Our house sort of turned into a hot mess.  Duke was just discharged for jaundice, Link came down w/ Croup Christmas Day, I got mastitis Saturday and then Matt caught Link’s croupy cough.

Regardless, we all still managed to enjoy Christmas.  Link loved his gifts.  Santa somehow managed to bring him exactly what he wanted – a hockey goal.  We were able to enjoy lunch at the Village Inn with Randi & Roberta between Roberta’s flight coming in & Randi’s leaving.

Duke ended his first week by being discharged from Children’s for a really high bilirubin level.

Last Monday we had our first pediatrician apt.  She commented on his jaundice, and I said they had tested it Friday before they discharged us from the hospital and it was 10.1.  Our ped. thought she better just recheck it to make sure it was going down, but assured me she didn’t think he looked that bad.

Later Monday afternoon she called me and said it was 20.5 and we need to head to Children’s to be admitted.  Our pediatrician said she was shocked it was so high and she had only ever seen one other kid w/ a bilirubin 20+.

Thankfully, after 24 hours under the lights, his bilirubin number was down enough for us to be discharged.
