Catch Up

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in so long.  I SWEAR I wrote one since May 6th, but apparently not?  Shame!!

We’ve been busy since May 6th – or so it seems.

Link spent time with a babysitter, for the first time, on Saturday.  Matt & I had a golf lesson, but because it rained, we went to lunch & the golf store instead.  We came home to Link getting his diaper changed, due to a poop-plosion, but the sitter was putting it on backwards.  I let her do it, without correcting.  I didn’t want to correct her because I felt like she was nervous w/ me standing over her (even though I wasn’t judging, just getting the low down on the afternoon), I also didn’t want to be that over bearing parent, and let’s be honest, it’s kind of embarrassing being corrected by the parent about something so trivial, and I didn’t want to make it awkward.  I don’t know if I should worry that she couldn’t put on a diaper or be happy I came home to an alive, happy, & cared for baby.  I pick the later.

We’ve also been to the zoo

Gone to the garden center, where they have a “cute baby for flowers” exchange program.  I asked how much I could get for my baby.  They said I could get a lifetime of flowers & veggies…tempting, but I came home w/ my babe.

We’ve gone to the cookie shop, where Deanna gave Link his first cookie – his dad’s favorite.  I MIGHT have eaten all but 1 of them.  I guess that’s what happens when you get a bunch of cookies & your husband is out of town – you turn into the cookie monster.

Matt, Link, & Lucy gave me a wonderful Mother’s Day – one way better than I could have ever imagined.

Mother’s Day weekend was cold & rainy – I thought I’d try on the hat I knitted for Link, before he was born, thinking he would have a giant melon like his father, and it would fit him in the hospital & he could wear it on his way home.  Oh…I was so wrong.  But it does fit, now, 10 weeks later.  Thankfully it was cold & he had a reason to wear it!

Later this week we are heading to CA.  I can’t wait.  It will be Link’s first trip to the beach and we get to show him the joy of Casa De Fruta  (the link does it NO justice) – I hope he shares in my excitement over it.

I’m thinking I need to start doing a weekly post of just pictures I’ve taken with my phone.  Maybe, if I get time later today, I’ll put a small montage together.  Don’t hold me to it!!
